For the fifth time, Tora Bombora is back. A festival for the soul, on the edge of the world.
Wellington Anniversary Weekend, 20-22 January 2023.
Tora Bombora is a community festival that showcases young talent from around Aotearoa & beyond. Festival-goers will come together to celebrate emerging musicians, artists and to support a growing trend of events that encourage community collaboration, celebration, and environmental harmony.
TB KAUPAPA // Community, Environment & Music
To connect like-minded people and allow them to create and party
To ensure zero harm and protect the environment.
To support talented artists whilst lapping up the rā, tūātea & maunga of the isolated coastline.
SUSTAINABILITY ♻︎ & ECO INITIATIVES will be core aspects of the event.
WASTE POLICY IS BRING YOUR OWN, TAKE YOUR OWN. This is something that is designed to help make you all conscious consumers as we are all responsible for our waste and consumption. This was a huge success over the last four festivals & it’ll be great to continue that legacy for 2023.
There will be a BAN OF SINGLE-USE PLASTICS! This includes single-use plastic bottles, straws, bags and food and drinks wrapped in single-use plastic! Each festival attendee will be given bag that they can store their waste in.
If you bring your own food and drinks please bring CANS ONLY! Their low transportation footprint and ease of recyclability make them a winner in our books. Barefoot living is also highly encouraged which is why taking glass out of the picture keeps it green and safe for you all.
CAMPING for the event is included in your ticket price. The festival begins at 3.00 pm Friday the 20th Jan. The camping zone will be situated on-site, right on the Pacific Ocean where you can swim, fish, surf, play and chill out.
FOOD AND SHOPS. Tora is isolated. That means no shops, no cell phone reception and no stress for 45 mins so please make sure you bring more than enough food and gear as Martinborough is the nearest shop.
Firebird, Juice on the Loose, Taco Addicts, Mao & Co and more will be selling kai, coffees and smoothies - CASH ONLY. Please bring clean plates and containers for food trucks. There will be free water so please bring a reusable cup or bottle for that.
